The ADVANCED 8-step graphic design process, revealed and explained to you guys in todays video. This is a process that I personally use for my workflow, and the 8step process is essential for me, so that I end up with the best possible design solution, with the skills and knowledge that I have. The design process is so important to the success of a project. Without a process in place, it is a lot like heading on a long journey without a map or navigation system. You will be lost, and if you end up with a decent design at the end, it probably will be due to luck and certainly won't be sustainable. I use this process mainly for working on logo designs, because it really helps me get in touch with the client, the company, the industry and the client base of my client. This ensures that the final logo design solution is not only effective, but that it will last a long time in the eyes of the consumer. You cannot underestimate the design process, especially when designing a logo for a client. I consider it to be so crucial that I would never consider designing without a professional process in place. But what do you think? Do you use a process when designing, or is it something you don't really take much notice of? Interior design is a trade that encompasses a breadth of responsibilities: space planning, color, light, cabinetry, furniture, fabric, carpet, window treatments... and the list goes on. On top of that, designers often play the role of carpenter, furniture maker, general contractor and amateur psychologist. To keep all of these responsibilities in order, a great documentation process is needed. In this class Eric Schimelpfenig shows you how to create everything in SketchUp from a carpet to a whole space plan using SketchUp. Eric's real world techniques will prepare you to use SketchUp in all aspects of design quickly and accurately from concept proposal to finished project. 🤍

This video looks at an emergent workflow using Midjourney to assist in concept design and influence fabrication drawings. We take a brief look at how Midjourney Version 4 (v 4) uses reference images to produce advanced drawings that further influence our final product. The 3D pavilion model shown in the video was produced by hand. We are currently looking into AI programs that generate 3D models from 2D images. There are several companies working on this technology. The 3D Printed Pavilion project is currently in development with our local municipality as we secure funding and further develop planning and logistics to bring this to life. We are currently printing scaled models of our prototype pavilion with Coorlas Architecture PLLC. The first video of a really exciting collaboration between Proko and Pixologic, the makers of zBrush! We’re going to be simulating a workflow as a character designer creates concepts and passes those to a 3d sculptor to convert to a workable 3D asset. This is a real world example of how these artists work together to create assets for video games, film, toys, and collectibles. So in this video, gaming industry veteran Scott Flanders will show you how professional artists take their concepts from their earliest ideas on paper, to final concept. Then we’ll pass those off to Joseph Drust from Pixologic, to bring them to life in 3D. Pixologic will have 3 live streams with Joseph! PowerPoint is an enterprise level software and an amazing product of Microsoft Office. It has a great potential and the kind of features it provides are so easy to understand and simple to use that every student, manager, marketing executive or sales guy can easily create brilliant professional presentations. Microsoft Office PowerPoint is often underestimated but it allows us to create presentations, logos, banners, templates, designs, graphics, and most importantly video animations. A PowerPoint Presentation designed appropriately can really convince your target audience. A lot of design thinking needs to be put into a slide to make sure that the message is clearly delivered to the user. This new complete InfraWorks centric bridge design workflow provides Infrastructure teams with seamless data flow between the various products and disciplines within the bridge design process and the wider infrastructure project. At the conceptual stage both the road designer and the bridge designer will work in InfraWorks identifying the best routes and initial bridge design through various optioneering iterations. This data can then be published and consumed by Civil 3D where the road designer can start to solidify the road design. The road designer can then start to produce the necessary road documentation and at any time send the developed road design back to InfraWorks to further aid the development of the bridge design during the following design stages. The bridge designer will be progressing the bridge design with the updated road data and can re-publish the bridge data which can again be consumed by Civil 3d but also by Revit where the bridge designer can start to develop the necessary bridge documentation including drawings, schedules, and Bills of Materials for the preliminary and final design stages. During the bridge modelling process the may be a requirement for custom bridge parts if novel geometry is encountered, this can be developed in Inventor and used to expand the InfraWorks bridge system. At the later design stages the bridge engineer can also receive the bridge data from InfraWorks to develop full grillage or finite element bridge models and develop the necessary calculations to fully verify the bridge design. The wider scope of this complete workflow can provide not only bridge designer but also the wider infrastructure team with efficiency gains and better design outcomes by providing seamless data connection during multiple design iterations typical for this type of complex infrastructure project.

People often ask me about my design process and my creative workflow. They usually ask: Do you sketch by hand first? What tools do you use? What is your favorite app for modeling? How long does it take you? Since each project is extremely different from the last so it can be hard to give an accurate answer each time. Also I am constantly learning new methods and new techniques to complete my design objectives. The answers to most of those questions are that my designs are unique and are developed using different tactics and styling. Unfortunately, a perfect recipe or a secret formula does not exist for creating successful parts. I always say sometimes you need to work out all the bad ideas just to get to the good ones. I also embrace the chaos and challenges of design. I believe we all need to constantly reinvent ourselves and continue push ourselves to become better at our craft. For this design I wanted to focus my attention on an everyday item. Something that everyone can relate with. This project is called the Snap-Back wallet. It is a simple concept that is a great example of my workflow journey. I actually started this project earlier this summer. However, I really wanted to finish it using aircraft grade aluminum created on my brand new CNC machine. The overall design shape was inspired by an ultra-smooth river rock. I have often turned to nature for my design inspiration.
